VanSlyke, who died at her home in Easton Nov. 3, was born in state of New York, Aug. 4, 1831. Her maiden name was Lewis. She moved with her parents to the state of Ohio, where she was married to Harrison VanSlyke in 1858. In 1864 they moved to Michigan. Mr. VanSlyke died about 16 years ago. Mrs. VanSlyke lived a faithful Christian life. All who are left of her family are two grandchildren. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. D. H. Shelly, were held at Dildine church Nov. 5, and she was buried beside her husband in Easton cemetery.
