Services Held For Charles VanTassel

Charles Junior VanTassel, 51, of 352 Sims Avenue, Wayne, Michigan passed away 
Friday evening at the Martin Place West Hospital in Detroit where he was 
hospitalized for three weeks. He had been transferred to the hospital from the 
Continued Nursing Center at Livonia where he had been a patient since September.

He was born at Lake Odessa March 28, 1925, the son of William and Lydia (Hummel) 
VanTassel and at the age of five years he moved with his parents to Detroit.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs Lydia VanTassel of Wayne; three brothers, Kenneth 
of Detroit, Don of Mt.Clements and Grover of Wayne; three sisters, Mr.Wayne 
(Barbara) Knop of Lake Odessa, Mrs James (Marline) Bird of Battle creek and Mrs. 
John (Thelma) Giboat of Detroit; an aunt, Mrs Loretta Thomas of Battle Creek and 
nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at one o'clock at the Pickens-Koops Funeral 
Chapel, Lake Odessa. Rev. Elwood Norton officiated with burial in Lakeside 
Cemetery.
