VAN TIFFLIN DIED SUNDAY A.M. Mrs. George H. Van Tifflin, 67, died Sunday morning at Houston, Tex., following a sudden heart attack suffered during the previous evening. She with her husband had gone to Houston December 19 to visit their son and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Richard Van Tifflin for a couple of months. Miss Edith Perkins was married to William Shellhorn on February 24, 1898. In 1924 they with their daughter Wilma moved from their farm home east of town to this village where they resided in August, 1937. In August 1944, Mrs. Shellhorn was married to George H. Van Tifflin who survives her. Mrs. Shellhorn was a member of Central Methodist church here, the Showerman Division, Woman's club and Order of eastern Star. Also surviving is the daughter Mrs. Van Tifflin, a granddaughter, Miss Rosemary Van Tifflin, four brothers, Norris on the home farm in Sunfield township, Will at Jackson, Charles at Hastings and Rome at Wolverine, Mich., one niece Mrs. David Smith here and several nephews. The body arrived from Houston Wednesday evening, and funeral services were held in Central Methodist church Thursday afternoon. Officiating clergymen were the Rev's Dr. F. Augustus Shull and J. Lawrence Ward. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery.
