Van Wagner, died at the home of her son G. H. (“Bert”) Van Wagner, in Chicago in the 12th inst. of heart failure, aged 64 years. The remains were brought to Portland for burial last Thursday and services held at Baptist church in the afternoon. They were not largely attended, however, notice of funeral having been short. Members of L.L.C., of which deceased was a former president, and W. R. C. attended in a body, and comprised the bulk of the audience. Mrs. Van Wagner came to Maple Corners, north of Portland, in 1872, some years later moving to the village where they family resided until five years ago, when Mr. Van Wagner died. Since then she has been making her home in the families of her two sons in Chicago and Atlanta, Ga., at the former place summers and spending the winters in the south. The sons are the surviving members of the family.
