The Belding Banner, Thursday, March 25, 1965


Mrs. Flossie VanWormer, age 87, of 313 W. State Street, died March 19 following 
a lingering illness.  She was born in Keene township, Ionia County, August 31, 
1877 and had lived in Belding for the past 15 years.  Previously she had lived 
at Croton Dam.  On January 1, 1900 she was married to Ozro VanWormer in Grand 
Rapids and he died in 1957.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Milton Nickel, Belding, with whom she made 
her home; two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Huffman Funeral Home with 
the Rev. Ralph Dean, pastor of Central Methodist church officiating.  Burial 
was in Greenwood cemetery, Grand Rapids.

Pallbearers were Donald Waldron, Francis Gais, Homer Cowles, Lyle Petersen, 
George Scheid and Donald Eychaner.
