Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 25 May 1943

Mrs. Nellie Vaughn, 74, died Tuesday morning at 5:30 o’clock at her home in 
Saranac.  She had been in poor health for two years and death was the result of 
a heart attack.  She was born in Cannonsburg, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
Alfred Holcomb.

She was married in December, 1885, to Levi Vaughn, who died in 1936.  She was a 
member of the Congregational church of Saranac, the Order of Eastern Star and 
was a president of the Saranac Women’s club.

Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Morris funeral 
home in Saranac.  Rev. J.W. Winger will officiate, assisted by Rev. E.H. 
Humphries.  Burial will be in Saranac cemetery.
