Vaughn Mrs. Harried Hayes R. Vaughn, 81, died Monday morning 10 o'clock at her home in Berrien Springs, following an illness of several months, the last few weeks of which had been of a crucial nature. funeral services were to be held Wednesday afternoon from the residence in Berrien Springs, with burial at South Bend, her former home. Mrs. Vaughn was the widow of David R. Vaughn, who from 1895 to 1904 was local agent of the Pere Marquette railroad in Ionia. They left Ionia in 1904 when Mr. Vaughn became general agent for the Grand Trunk railroad in South Bend, Ind. and resided there until his death in 1912. A few years later Mrs. Vaughn moved to Berrien Springs, where she made her home near that of her daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Vaughn McOmber, and where she has since resided. Mrs. Vaughn was born in Payilton, Pa. In 1854 and was married in Pennsylvania in 1872. After residence in that state and in Oregon, the family came to Ionia in 1895. Seven children, 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive here. The children are Mrs. Graham O. McOmber, of Berrien Springs: Mrs. Harry C. Gilger of St. Louis, Mo: Mrs. J. Howard Johnson of Albuquerque, M.M.: David R. Vaughn of South Bend: Mrs. Fred M. Kidd of Ionia: Mrs. Allen C. Boggs of South Bend and Dr. Fred W. Vaughn, also of South Bend.
