Ionia Sentinel-Standard – Tues. Oct. 20, 1987

LAKE ODESSA- Mona L. Veitch, 97, of Lake Odessa, died Sunday at Provincial 
House, Hastings.

Born Jan. 12, 1890, in Washington, Ind., she was the daughter of Jesse and 
Magdalen Tyler Simons. She was married to Robert Veitch on June 1912, in 
Pendleton, Oregon/ He died Aug. 6, 1955.

She was a member of the Rebekahs, Order of the Eastern Star in Freeport, the 
Women’s Friendship Club at the Central United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, Harold of Lake Odessa; two daughters, Evelyn Pierce of 
Lake Odessa and Vivian Copeland of Orlando, Fla; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-
grandchildren; five step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Koops funeral Chapel, 
Lake Odessa, with the Rev. Charles Richards officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
A memorial for the Central United Methodist Church has been established, in 
care of the funeral home.
