Ionia Sentinel Standard, 9 Sep 2004

Felix Velasquez, age 51, of Ionia, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2004.  
He was born on January 8, 1953 in Portland, the son of Arturo and Maria 
(Hernandez) Velasquez.  Mr. Velasquez was a member of and served as an altar 
boy for SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia.  Felix loved his sons very 
much.  He enjoyed gardening and working on cars.  Preceding him in death was a 
sister, Christina Marie Velasquez.

Surviving are his sons, Deven of Palo, Jeremy of Ionia, and Nathen of Sheridan; 
parents, Arturo and Maria (Hernandez) Velasquez of Ionia; siblings, Erma Terry 
of Six Lakes, Arthur Velasquez of Ionia, Richard Velasquez of Muir, Virginia 
Raddatz of Stanton, and Sandra Lake of Ionia; many nieces, nephews, great 
nieces and great nephews.

The memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Melvin Fox, Pastor at 11 
a.m. Friday, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia.  Rite of Committal 
will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Ionia.  For those desiring, memorial 
contributions may be made to the family, in memory of Mr. Felix Velasquez.
