Mrs. Gladys Vereeke, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Tottes, for many years residents of Lake Odessa, passed away at Sparrow hospital, Lansing, Tuesday morning, following an operation. Mrs. Vereeke spent her childhood and young womanhood at Lake Odessa where she was well known. She had a particularly pleasing soprano voice, singing for some time in the Methodist choir. Mrs. Vereeke was 43 years of age. She leaves a son Howard Rising and a daughter Mrs. Eileen Peacock, both of Lansing. It will be remembered that her mother passed away suddenly at the home of Mrs. Lester Rush only about two years ago. The funeral will be held Saturday at the Gorsline-Runciman funeral home at one o’clock and burial will be at Lakeside.
