The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, June 28, 1963

Mrs. Alice May Verstine, 87, died Thursday afternoon at Brooks convalescent 
home where she had resided the past week.  She was born in Ionia May 31, 1876, 
the daughter of John and Jennie Kerstetter and after her marriage to Charles 
Verstine lived most of her life in Detroit.  Mr. Verstine died in 1923.

Mrs. Verstine is survived by a sister, Mrs. Glenn Van Giesen of Sarasota, 
Fla., and a brother, Eugene Kerstetter of Ionia.

Funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Stone-Kauffman funeral home with 
interment at Highland Park cemetery.
