March 6, 2012 Virginia "Ginny" Vestal left us to join Heavens Choir on Ash Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Born Virginia Lorraine Whitelock on March 25, 1927, in Portland, Ginny lived with her son Michael Ameel at Long Lake during the early 1960's. Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend. Ginny spent her final day surrounded by family, friends, love and prayer. She was preceded in death by her Dear Mother Mathilda, Father John, and her brothers Bobby, George and Richard. She is survived by her Son, Michael Ameel, of Coto de Caza, Calif.; Grand- daughters, Cathy Marusich and Melissa Said; Great-grandchildren, RoseLynn, Keira, AnaLeigh and Jameson. Her surviving brother Fred Whitelock lives in Omaha, Nev. All, including her many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends will miss her deeply. Ginny was a Realtor for over 35 years. Her integrity and friendliness was widely known among her peers. Everyone knew "Ginny" in San Dimas and LaVerne where she was active in her church, Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in San Dimas, Calif. as a Lector and Choir Member. She was known far and wide for her beautiful voice and smile. She had spent her early years as a professional singer in Detroit and Lansing. She also sang with a Big Band, "Chuck Foster and his Orchestra". In her later years she devoted her many gifts, to serving God. She was a unique and wonderful woman who leaves us all richer for having had her in our lives. A viewing and Rosary was held on Feb. 28, 2012 at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in San Dimas, Calif. A Funeral mass was held on Feb. 29, 2012 followed by Internment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Rowland Heights, Calif. A reception was held afterwards at The Fountains Mobile Home Park, Clubhouse in LaVerne where friends and family celebrated Ginny's wonderful life!
