Only Son Died of Pneumonia While Serving Country; Now Daughter and Only Remaining Child is Taken. In the death of Miss Isabell Vetter, 24 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Vetter of Lake Odessa, the family has suffered a second tragic sorrow within a few years, this latest death taking from them their only remaining child. Four years ago Paul Vetter, their only son, died at Camp Taylor in Kentucky where he had gone in the service of his country and where he was stricken with flu. Pneumonia followed and he died. The death of the remaining child, Isabell, resulted it is believed from complications which ensued from the effects of ptomaine poisoning following the eating of chop suey. Mr. Vetter was for 10 years prominent in Lake Odessa where he conducted hardware store, which he disposed of about two months ago. Miss Isabell Vetter, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vetter. of lake Odessa died at her home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 after an illness of four weeks. Her death was due to ptomaine poison, which developed, it is said, after eating chop suey. She was 24 years of age, a graduate of Lake Odessa high school and was employed as bookkeeper for the Michigan Calendar Publishing company, at Grand Rapids. Before going to Grand Rapids she was the leader of the Camp Fire Girls. Her young life will be greatly missed not only by her parents but by all who knew her. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock from the home.
