Lake Odessa Scrapbook - October 1896

Melvina Vibber departed from this life Oct.28 at the age of 52 years. She had 
been sick for several months bur for the last few weeks her life was hourly 
despaired of. The deceased was born  in Shiawassee county, Mich., and was 
married in 1862, and was the mother of four children, two of whom are living and 
mourn her loss. The funeral occurred at the M.E. church, Friday, Oct. 30th, Rev. 
Arthur Trott officiating. The funeral was largely attended and the sermon an 
excellent one. The remains were interred in Lakeside Cemetery. She had a large 
circle of friends in the village and vicinity who will sadly miss her. She was a 
sister of Mrs. H.F. Miner of Lake Odessa, she also leaves three other sisters 
and two brothers to mourn her loss, they being Mrs. Sarah Ames of Ypsilanti; 
Mrs. Eliza Jewell of Gains, Mrs. Mary Knapp of Adrian, Wm. Miller of Lowell and 
B. Miller of Gains. She was greatly loved and respected by all who knew her, and 
the mourning relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad 
affliction.
