He was born Aug. 15, 1916, at Randers, Jutland, Denmark, the son of Emil and Ragnhild (Madsen) Andersen-Vie. He was a veteran of WW II; a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church; a member of the Disabled American Veteran and the Veterans of Foreign Wars; a member Greenville Volunteer Fire Department from 1939-1943 and of the Belding Volunteer Fire Department of 1946-1962; Belding Volunteer Fire Department traffic control officer from 1962 until his death. He is survived by his wife, Caddie; one son, Michael; his mother Ragnhild of Jackson; one brother, Axel Andersen-Vie of Jackson; two grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Huffman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials have been established for the Alvah N. Belding Library or the Michigan Heart Fund, in care of the funeral home.
