He had been ill for about seven months. Mr. Vincent was born March 30, 1910 in Ionia county and was the son of Jack Vincent and Florence Booth Vincent. He attended the Ionia county public schools living in the area most of his life. Veteran of World War II he served in Ionia Company H National Guards prior to entry into active service. He fought at battle of New Guinea and received two bronze battle stars and five overseas service bars. Mr. Vincent worked as a body repairmen at the Michigan state highway department for 25 years. In 1957 he married Clara Starks in Angola, Ind. and was a member of Ionia Moose lodge. Survivors besides his wife, Clara, are a stepson, Jack Starks of Detroit; two grandchildren; one brother, James Vincent of Ada; one sister, Mrs. Esther Rademaker of St. Johns. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home with Rev. Robert McComb of First Presbyterian church officiating. Interment will be at Balcom cemetery.
