Alice M. Virden, 83, of Belding, formerly of Lansing, passed away Wednesday 
morning, March 12, 2003, at Metron of Belding Nursing Home.  She was born April 
27, 1919 in Lansing.

Alice worked for a number of years at Sparrow Hospital as a housekeeper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Virden, in 1994; a brother, 
Eldon Tibbits; and a sister, Evelyn Summerfield.  She is survived by her 
daughter, Mary Alice Roberts of Cabello, N.M.; grandchildren, Alecia Smith of 
Rockford, Sam Martinez of Grand Ledge, Mary Clark of Lansing, Al Martinez of 
St. Joseph, Rosa Martinez of Snover; and six great-grandchildren.

There will be no services.  Interment is in Joel Cemetery, Dennis, Miss.  
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Funeral 
arrangements were entrusted to Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.
