Ionia Sentinel Standard - Feb. 18, 2011


Dolores I. Visser, 76, of Portland, passed away in the loving care of her 
daughters and hospice Feb. 15, 2011. She was born June 22, 1934 in Ionia the 
daughter of Lloyd and Katherine (Miller) Hampshire. Delores married Henry 
Visser January of 1951. He preceded her in death in 1996. She loved to paint, 
home decorating and ceramics. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed many 
friendships.

Dolores is survived by her children, Julie (Melvin) Huhn of Portland, Allen 
(Lori) Visser of Saranac, Lorie (Randy) Hummel of Portland and Tina (Chuck) 
Larsen of Saranac; sisters, Grace (Conrad) Weller of Ionia and Donna (Richard) 
Prins of Grand Haven; grandchildren, Melissa (John) Brandt of Portland, Amanda 
(George) Rowe of Portland, Sarah Ickes of Saranac, Joshua Visser of Florida, 
Tyler Langoni of Lansing Abigail Langoni of Portland, Nathan Hummel of 
Portland, Amber Larsen of Lansing, Jordan Larsen of Grand Haven and Derrick 
Larsen of Saranac; and great grandchildren, Austin, Haydin, Lauren, Brady, 
Andrew, Matthew and Jaida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her sister, Carol Hoppes.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home of Saranac. Anyone wishing may make memorial 
contributions in Dolores’s name to Lansing-Ionia area Hospice. Online
