August Visser, 87, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Max Odinga, on
Bluewater Highway Easton township, Saturday at 6 p.m. after being ill for the
past two weeks.  Mr. Visser had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Odinga and
son, Harry Visser of Grand Haven, for the past 18 years.  He was born in The
Netherlands September 25, 1866, and came to the United States in 1929.  He lived
in Grand Rapids until his wife’s death in 1936.  Mr. Visser was a member of the
Christian Reform church at Spring Lake.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Odinga and Mrs. Winifred deGroot of Ionia; a
son, Harry of Grand Haven; two sisters, Mrs. Lee Roedena of Grand Rapids and
Mrs. Henry Ouding of Belgium; two brothers, Eli of Grand Rapids and Aage of The
Netherlands; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Boynton funeral home with
the Rev. Eric Cash officiating.  Interment will be in Easton cemetery.
