Vizard, died Friday eve., of consumption. She was aged 18 years and had been ill about a year and a half; it was in the latter part of ’95 that a feebleness became apparent and took her from her school studies. Deceased was a popular favorite in a wide circle of Ionia young people and her cheerful demeanor will often be recalled by many with real pleasure. The funeral services for Miss Rose Vizard were largely attended at the Church of SS Peter & Paul Monday a.m., the auditorium being filled beyond its seating capacity. The audience, too, was a noticeably sympathetic one. Former schoolmates and young friends of deceased were present in large numbers, as well as sympathizing friends by the score of the bereaved parents. Rev. Fr. Fierle read the solemn ritual service of the Catholic church, and at the close offered words of consolation and comfort to the bereaved family and likewise an admonition to all present to make true use of the life here. He paid a fitting tribute to the deceased girl, whose sweet and pure life was recognized and admired by all who knew her. The bearers were: Frank Carten, Fred Wortman, Will Kenny, Eugene Kerstetter, Cornelius Kelleher, Luke McGowan, young friends of deceased. Interment was in Catholic cemetery.
