Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 12 Jun 1963

Ernest M. Vogt, 85, died Tuesday evening at his home on Gibbs road near
Portland.  He had resided at the same farm more than 50 years. 

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ernestine Balderson of Portland, and Mrs.
Esther Meade of Charlotte; a foster daughter, Lettie Dutcher of Portland; one
son, Frederick C. Vogt of Charlotte; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
and two brothers, Elmer J. Vogt and Harrison M. Vogt of Grand Ledge.

Funeral service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Neller funeral home with the Rev.
James Eddleston officiating.  Burial will be at Portland cemetery.  Portland
Masonic lodge F&AM of which Mr. Vogt was a 50-year member, will have charge of
graveside services.
