Vogt, 84, of Okemos, formerly of Ionia, passed away Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, in Lansing. He was born Feb. 21, 1914, in Holland, Mich., the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Vogt. He married Jean Curtis in 1949. She preceded him in death in 1987. Mr. Vogt was a World War II veteran of the Air Force and served as a crew chief on B-17s in Polebrook, England. He was a member of the Saranac VFW. Surviving are son, Carl (Pat) Vogt of Mason; daughter, Karen (Tom) Beery of Traverse City; brother, George (Eileen) Vogt of Grand Rapids; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Funeral services for Mr. Vogt will be 1 p.m. Friday at Lake Funeral Home, Ionia. Interment will be in Woodard Lake Cemetery, where there will be a military service. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Anyone wishing may make contributions to the charity of their choice.
