Born in Ionia county March 28, 1878, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Heald and taught school in Ionia county three years. In August 1989 she was married to Levi Marshall, partnership owner of Marshall-Wright Lumber company. Mr. Marshall died in the late 1930’s. Mrs. Von Tautenhahn was a member of First Methodist church of Ionia. She was a past regent of Stevens Thomson Mason chapter DAR and life member of Queen Esther chapter OES and charter member of the White Shrine. Active in church work, she served as general president of WSCS of First Methodist church seven years. She was also a former president of Boy Scout Mothers club of Ionia and City Council of PTA. Surviving are a son, Marvin I. Marshall of Ormond Beach, Fla., and a foster daughter, Mrs. Dora Tanzi of Andover, N.H. A son, Melvin, also preceded her in death. Funeral service will be at Boynton funeral home at 1:30 Friday afternoon. The Rev. Lester C. Bailey of First Methodist church will officiate and entombment will be at Highland Park mausoleum.
