Margaret Voorheis, 85, of Belding, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 12, 2011 
at Spectrum Health’s Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. She was born in April 
4, 1925, in Decatur, Mich., the daughter of Everett and Etta Utter Greenacre.

Margaret loved to sew, knit, crochet, watch birds and anything to do with 
nature and animals. She was a member of the Sheridan VFW Auxiliary and past 
member of the UAW. Margaret worked at the Chrysler Trip Plant as a sewer and 
retired in 1977.

She married on Nov. 4, 1941 in Ionia to Everett Voorheis and he survives along 
with their children; Beverly and Carl Fritts of Wyoming, Jimmy and Elizabeth 
Voorheis of Ionia, Barbara and Harold Trebian of Orleans, and Jack Voorheis of 
Greenville; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great 
grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, daughter Nancy at birth, granddaughter Shalyn, 
nephew Marvin Heilman, brothers; Elmer and Lee and their spouses, sister 
Francis and her husband.

Funeral and Committal services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Feuerstein 
Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Private Interment in 
Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia. Visitation will be one hour before the service. 
Memorial Contributions may be given to Safe Haven Humane Society.
