HELEN VOORHEIS
SARANAC - Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Voorheis, 71, of Saranac will be Saturday
at 2 p.m. at Morris-Roetman funeral home at Saranac.  Rev. James Frank of the Galilee
Baptist church will officiate and interment will be at Saranac cemetery.

Mrs. Voorheis, formerly of 300 Summit, Saranac, had lived at the Millcreek
Retirement Manor at Saranac. She died unexpectedly Thursday at Belding Community hospital after
being a patient one day.

She was born April 1, 1903, in Kansas and was married to Charles J. Voorheis making
her home at Saranac all her married life. Her husband preceded her in death as did a son
and daughter.

Surviving are two sons, Everett V. Voorheis of Ionia and Paul H. Voorheis of
Saranac; three daughters, Mrs.Evelyn Lemke of Bangor, Mrs. Allene Pennington of Saranac, and Mrs. 
Elizabeth Bartlett of Phoenix, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren.

Family will be at the funeral home Friday from 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm.

A memorial had been established for the Galilee Baptist church of Saranac.
