Rev. Henry A. Hanson of St. John’s Episcopal church will officiate and interment will be at Highland Park cemetery. Livonia Holmes Vosper was born August 23, 1848, in Utica, Michigan, the daughter of Sarah Ann Sell Holmes and Miranda Holmes of Holmesville, New York. Her father died when she was still a small child, and her mother later married Walter Floate. The family then lived at the Floate farm in Clinton county near Maple Rapids, Michigan. As a young woman, Mrs. Vosper taught school in Saranac, and it was while she was teaching that she met James Vosper. They were married in St. Johns on December 28, 1870. For several years they lived on a farm east of Saranac, and about 1876 they moved to Ionia, where they continued to live for the remainder of their lives. Mr. Vosper died in 1926. Surviving are three children, Mrs. John B. Chaddock, of Ypsilanti; Zaidee B. Vosper, Chicago, and Richard Holmes Vosper; four grandchildren, Mrs. Paul E. Firden, John Vosper Chaddock, Mrs. Esther Chaddock Griffin and James Edward Vosper, and two great grandchildren, Suzanne Chaddock Griffin and Mary Jo Chaddock.
