He was born September 18, 1931 in Detroit, the son of Harold and Alice (Sharpe) VoVilla. He married Martha Pullen in 1958 in Fort McCullan, Alabama. Harold was an Alter boy and attended Catholic Schools. He served during the Korean Conflict in the Infantry and Viet Nam as 1st Air cavalry and then returned to Korea in 1969 as Commander of the 2nd aviation BN 2nd Infantry Division. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Martha VoVilla of Saranac; son Matthew VoVilla of California and daughter Kristine Oblinger of Saranac; grandchildren Michael VoVilla, Robert VoVilla, Vanessa Oblinger and Katarina Oblinger. Funeral services will be held Monday July 24, 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Thomas Hack officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday 5 to 8 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Internment will be at Saranac Cemetery.
