Oct. 30, 1995 WOODLAND- Joseph A. Vroman, 93, of Woodland died Saturday, Oct. 28, 1995 at his home. He was born Feb. 24, 1902 in Belgium, the son of Odiel and Augusta (Vadromme) Vroman. He immigrated to the United States in 1919 and moved from Battle Creek to Woodland 1939. He was employed at Lake Odessa Machine Products for years, retiring in 1982. He married Burnice Deyarmond in 1970 in Lake Odessa. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Woodland, past member of the Woodland Fire Department and was an avid bowler and fisherman. Surviving are his wife Burnice; son Gilbert (Joyce)Vroman of Saranac; daughter Martha (Alvin) Pitts, of Livonia; daughter-in-law Marjorie Vroman and Ada Dennie, both of Lake Odessa; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Margaret Wagner; sons Keith and Joseph; grandson Larry Vroman; and brothers Maurice and Mitchell. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 1995 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Woodland with Rev. Alan Sellman officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Memorial Park. Visitation will be on from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the Koops Funeral chapel in Lake Odessa. Arrangements have been made by Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.
