Warren E. Brown, of Marshall, officiating. Mrs. Vunk died in Lansing following an operation Sunday. She was taken to Lansing by the Bandfield ambulance a week ago. She is survived by her husband, Silas Vunk, and one daughter, Mrs. John Spotts. One sister and three brothers, also survive her. The sister is Mrs. Floyd Martin, of Portland. Brothers are Wm. T. Shotwell, of Denver, Colo., E. B. Shotwell, of Detroit, and L. D. Shotwell, of Denver. Bertha Shotwell was born in Orange township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thurston Shotwell. She was married to Silas Vunk in 1900, and they have lived near Maple corners north of Portland throughout their married lives. For many years Mr. and Mrs. Vunk lived just north of Maple corners, and following the death of Harry Vunk, some years ago, moved to the Vunk homestead east of Male corners.
