     DENNIS ROBERT VANGESSEL

Died September 6, 2025-age 52 in Muir.
Born November 19, 1972 in Grand Rapids, son of Richard Allen & Susan Kay 
(Hodges) VanGessel.
Dennis went to Michigan State University where he majored in Fisheries & 
Wildlife Biology, receiving a bachelor's degree.
He married Kim Punches on June 24, 2000 in Muir.
Dennis & Kim raised 6 children.
He worked for PLM as a Chemical Applicator.
He loved to golf & was a devoted Detroit Lyons fan in the Dominican Republic, 
Poker shark & playing with his kids & watching cartoons.
Survived by his living wife, Kim VanGessel of Portland; children Brennon, 
Samuel, Shane, Angel, Lilly & Tasha; Mother, Susan Bylsma& Gale Rininger of 
Lyons;Siblings, Richard VanGessel Jr of Haslett, Michael VanGessel & Jennifer 
Collins of Ionia, Ann Pennington & Allen of Lyons, Sarah Bylsma of Ionia, Chris 
VanGessel & Mary VanGessel of Grand Rapids; stepmother, Dennis VanGessel of 
Newygo, step-brothers, Ben Herbert of Newaygo & Paul Herbert of Newaygo, several 
nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by his father, Richard Allen VanGessel Sr.
Funeral services will be at the Funeral Home on Friday, September 13 at 2:00pm 
with visitation on Friday noon until time of services.
Interment at Oakwood Cemetery in Muir, MI
Please consider wearing Lions gear for those attending the funeral.
Luncheon will follow the service at the Log Cabin Inn Banquet Center, 6384 E. 
Bluewater Hwy, Muir, MI 48860.
