All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Pat Currigan currigan1932@comcast.net April 17, 2020, 7:36 pm Ionia Sentinel standard-Wed, July 23, 1958 Joe Wacha Found Dead In His Bed Sheriff Peter VanVleck and Coroner Neil Phelps were called to the Joe Wacha farm residence on M-44 Wednesday morning after Wacha, 47, was found dead in his bed at route one, Orleans Officials said death was due to a heart condition. Wacha was found by Arthur Cook who was working on the farm spraying orchards. Cook informed officers he went into the house early Wednesday morning and thought Wacha was sleeping at the time. He returned about 9:15 to use the telephone, he said and Wacha was still in bed. Cook said he decided to call Wacha's brother, Lawrence after he thought it peculiar Wacha did not get up. Officers said Lawrence had talked with his brother Tuesday evening about 6 o'clock and he apparently was all right at that time. Surviving are four brothers, John, Thomas, Hugh and Lawrence and three sisters, Mrs Geraldine Ma_es, Mrs. Alice Christensen and Sister Mathew. Sheriff Van Vleck said Hugh Wacha is vacationing someplace in the upper peninsula and officers are attempting to locate him. Saturday morning at 9 o'clock funeral mass will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church. Interment is to be at Mt. Olivet cemetery. Rosary will be recited Friday at 7:30 at the Myers funeral home. Additional Comments: Mt.
