Wachter, 51, was found dead at his Leach Lake home in rural Hastings Saturday afternoon. Born in Woodland December 18, 1917 he was the son of Leonard and Rose Garlinger Wachter. A 1936 graduate of Woodland high school, he had been a resident of Hastings 21 years. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of VFW of Nashville and Lawrence Bauer American Legion post of Hastings. He worked as a machine operator for Hastings Aluminum company. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul Reese and Gail Wachter both of Lansing; and a son David Wachter of Hastings; one grandson; sister, Mrs. Nick Hollandsworth of Lansing. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa. Interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
