The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, December 14, 1931

The funeral services for William Waddell, 42, a World war veteran who served 
throughout the war with the Canadian army, were conducted at the Boynton 
funeral chapel Monday afternoon by Rev. E. J. Fitch.  Interment was in 
Highland Park cemetery.

Mr. Waddell died in the Ionia state hospital, where he was suffering from 
shell shock and injuries sustained in the war.  Two sisters, of Chicago, were 
here to attend the services.  He also leaves an aged mother in Canada.
