Mother of Dellamar Wade Had Reached Ripe Old Age. Esther Wade died at the home of her son, Dell Wade, in this village last Tuesday night at the ripe old age of more than 89 years. The cause of her death was apoplexy, and this in turn, the physicians say, was caused by the effects of a fall which she had five years ago. While her son and wife were absent at Kalamazoo the old lady was stopping temporarily at the home of F.E. Caswell. She mistook the cellar door for another and fell to the bottom of the stairs. The fall produced a growth at base of brain and seven weeks ago she suffered a stroke of paralysis, followed by apoplexy. Mrs. Wade was one of the fine old ladies of the old school – motherly, kindly and neighborly. She was a native of Duchess county, N.Y., but came from Wayne county to Jackson, Mich., in 1857. She is survived by another son, M.C. Wade of St. Joseph, Mo. Funeral services were conducted from the house Thursday afternoon by Rev. Millard and interment made in Portland cemetery.
