Wagar, aged 70 years, an elder brother of Hon. H. R. Wagar of this city, died at Williamston last night. Deceased was a prominent business man, a dealer in flour, feed and lumber, and a prominent and active Mason. He is survived by the wife and one daughter. Remains will be brought to Ionia on Saturday afternoon, and immediately upon arrival will be taken to the Wagar mausoleum in Highland Park cemetery. Subsequent Publication: Saturday, March 2, 1901 The remains of Ephraim C. Wagar arrived in the city at 12:50 today from Williamston, for a resting place in the Wagar mausoleum in Highland Park. In the funeral party were the widow, and Messrs. B. B Crapo and Duncan Stewart, business partners, of Williamston. A brother, John Wagar, of Okemos, was prevented from coming by the crucial illness of his wife. Hon. H. R. Wagar, who is now at Mobile, recuperating from a grippe attack, also a brother of deceased, was prevented from attending the funeral by the long distance. The remains were taken direct from the train to the cemetery, where a burial service was conducted by Rev. W. H. McPherson. The carriers were from the fraternity of Masons, as follows: John W. Baldie, Daniel Waterbury, W. H. Burletson, Gregg Williams, G. F. Faude, H. A. Rich. Deceased was aged 75 years. He was the senior partner in the flouring mill business at Williamston, of Wager & Stewart, and of Wagar & Crapo lumber dealers, of same place. He was a native of New York state, and moved to Ohio with his parents while yet a mere boy. He moved to Williamston from South Lyon some 12 years ago. Mr. Wagar was twice married, and is survived by the wife and one daughter.
