Mrs. Adam Wagner, Suffers Stroke of Apoplexy Which Proves Fatal. Mrs. Adam Wagner died at her late residence Wednesday morning at about 7:30 o’clock without regaining consciousness from a stroke of apoplexy which she suffered Tuesday evening. The deceased had been feeling as well as usual during the day and had planned to attend the parish reunion at the church in the evening and at the supper table a short time before she was stricken she had said to Mr. Wagner and the family that they must all get ready and go. Miss Florence Wagner was on the program for a song. At about 7:30 o’clock she was in her room preparing to go and while partly in the wardrobe was suddenly stricken down. Miss Jennie Wagner discovered her immediately and those of the family who were present gave assistance at once and called Dr. Hook. She was unconscious but as she had been subject to slight attacks of this nature occasionally for the past year, it was at first thought that she would regain consciousness in a short time, but the doctor soon pronounced it so severe that there was no hopes of recovery. The deceased, who with the family, moved here 16 years ago from Eastmanville, was one of our most highly esteemed and respected citizens. She was ever found ready and willing to do her part in every good work along social and church lines and in the home circle was exceptionally strong in a character that makes that sacred place beautiful and lovely. She was a member and also held the office of deaconess of the Congregational church, a member of the Ladies Social Circle, of the Literary Exchange Club and of Doric Chapter O. E. S. from which societies she will be greatly missed. The family and especially her devoted husband has the sympathy of the entire community in this great bereavement which has followed so quickly others they have been called to pass through. The funeral service will be held at the residence Saturday at 2 o’clock p.m. Eunice Thayer Wagner, was born in the town of Fairfield, Lenawee county Mich., Sept. 6, 1843.
