Wagner, 64 for 35 years a foreman at the Ypsilanti-Reed Furniture company, died suddenly Friday morning at 2:15 o’clock at his home at 714 West Lincoln avenue. He had worked all day Thursday at the Reed company and spent the evening at the home of his son. Death came while he was sleeping. He was born February 24, 1879, in Logansport, Indiana. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Wagner. December 29, 1900, he was married to Alma Leith of Chicago and the couple made their home there for four years. Later, they moved to Los Angeles, where they spent five years. In 1909, the couple moved to Ionia, where they had lived since. Surviving besides the widow, Alma; are two sons, Louis Wagner, Jr., of Ionia and Raymond Wagner, with the U.S. army, stationed at Camp Adair, Oregon; a daughter, Mrs. James Miller of Lansing; two grandsons; three sisters, Mrs. Laura Paxton of Los Angeles; Mrs. Emma Donner of Glendale, California, and Mrs. E. Grebenstine of Los Angeles; two brothers, A. L. Wagner of Los Angeles and William Wagner of Chicago. Funeral arrangements will be announced later, pending the arrival of the son, Pvt. Raymond Wagner. Subsequent Publication: Thursday, March 25, 1943 Funeral services for Louis W. Wagner, 64, of 714 West Lincoln avenue, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Stone funeral home. Rev. F. G. Dunbar officiated and burial was in the family lot at Balcom cemetery. Floral arrangements were in charge of Mrs. Fred Barnes, Mrs. Walter Harter and Mrs. Robert Alspaugh. Pallbearers were Wilson Dalzell, Arthur B. Kauffman, Leon Lockwood, Fred Barnes, Ivan Clark and Andrew Gilhooley. Employees of the Ypsilanti Reed Furniture company attended services in a body. Attending from away were Pvt. Raymond Wagner of Camp Adair, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Raguse and son, Marvin of Jackson; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Schlosser of Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Murray Gehr of Coloma; Mr. and Mrs. John Kalb and Mr. and Mrs. Olney Maynard of Lyons; Mr. and Mrs. Marion Carey of Saranac.
