Ionia Sentinel-Standard – Sat. July 30, 1988

IONIA- Norma J. Wagner, 59, of Ionia died Thursday at Blodgett Memorial Medical 
Center, Grand Rapids.

Born March 24, 1929, in St. Joseph County, she was the daughter of James and 
Viola Fennell. She was married to Donald Wagner on June 22, 1947, in Burr Oak. 
They moved from Burr Oak to Ionia in 1963 and had lived in Ionia since. She was 
a member of Shiloh Community Church.

Surviving are her husband Donald; two sons, William Wagner of Ionia and Robert 
Wagner of Arkansas; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Barbara) Todd, Mrs. Douglas 
(Beverly) Clark and Mrs. William (Mary) Bensinger, all of Ionia; eight 
grandchildren; two brothers, James Fennell of Sturgis and Wayne Fennell of Burr 
Oak; two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Arlene) Cary and Mrs. Victor (Belle) Decker, 
both of Burr Oak. She was preceded in death by her father on July 17, 1988; and 
her mother on Oct. 25, 1979.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday from Shiloh Community Church, with 
the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.

Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday 
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Memorials have been established for the American Cancer Society or the Ionia 
Area Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
