Wagner, 84, of Belding, passed away at home on Monday evening Nov.19, 2001, surrounded by his family. He was born in Belding on Sept. 14, 1917, to George and Sarah Smith Wagner. He was married on Sept. 6, 1942, in Albion to Marguerite Howard who survives. He is also survived by their loving children; Sue and Fred Eyer of Grand Rapids, Patricia and Stuart Domeshek of Marietta, Ga., and Bruce Wagner of Lincoln Park; his grandchildren, Kelly and Brian Place, Kevin and Jennifer Eyer, Erin and Leon Weaver, Christina Hotchkiss; great-grandchildren, Collin and Aaron Place, Kyra Weaver; his sister, Martha Ann Reid of Lisle, Ill.; and nieces and nephews. His great joy was his family. He will be dearly remembered by his family for his kindness, gentleness, integrity, and sense of humor. Mr. Wagner graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1936, the University of Michigan and the University of Michigan Law School. He served as a pilot in the Naval Air Corps during World War II. He was a life member of the Masonic Lodge in Belding, a Rotarian, a member of First Congregational Church, the Belding Board of Education and the Alvah N. Belding Library Board. At Mr. Wagner’s request, cremation has been held. A memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with the Rev. Dr. Dick Woodward officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment is in River Ridge Cemetery.
