He had been ill six months. Born July 20, 190 in Gladwin, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Wagner. A former resident of Ionia, Mr. Wagner operated a shoe repair shop and newsstand on South Dexter street for a number of years. He also helped his father, Nicholas Wagner in the furniture business. Later he moved to Pewamo where he operated a shoe repair shop until his retirement three months ago, because of ill health. He is survived by his wife, Oma of Pewamo, seven step-children, Mrs. Dale (Ruth) Foley of Quincy, Arthur Jones of Milan, Ill. Mrs. Keith (Luella) Younger of Ionia, Mrs. Vernon (Norma) King of Orleans, Mrs. LaVern (Edith) Eaton and Mrs. Robert (Elsie) Austin of Ionia, and Mrs. Ernest (Pauline) Foley of Portland; 29 step-grandchildren, and one sister in California. Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Myers funeral home. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church with interment at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
