WAGNER SLAGLE Delta Township,MI - Greta J. Wagner-Slagle, of Delta Township, went to be with her Lord March 14, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Greta was born June 23, 1928 in Lake Odessa, to the late LeRoy W. & Zelpha F. (Stout) Clark. Greta graduated from Lake Odessa High School Class of 1945 and continued her education at Michigan State University where she received her masters & educational specialist degrees. Greta enjoyed a rewarding career as an educator at the Grand Ledge, Waverly & Eaton Intermediate Schools. She started teaching kindergarten, elementary and Title I programs in Grand Ledge & Waverly Schools Districts. Greta then worked with the Eaton Intermediate School District as a School Psychologist. She enjoyed golfing for many years, especially during her years in Florida.She also loved playing her organ, which holds especially fond memories for her grandchildren. She shared her enjoyment and cross-stitch with her family & had built extensive information on the family's genealogy. Greta loved spending time with her grandchildren at all ages, and devoted much time and love to those relationships. She is survived by her children, Gregory(Bernice)Wagner, Douglas (Annette) Wagner, Carol Wagner; step-children, Barry Slagle, Timothy(Connie) Slagle & Jonathan (Anne) Slagle; grandchildren, Corey Stefani, Jacob, Benjamin, Blair, Laurel, Zachary, Lauran, AdriAnne, Elizabeth, Christopher, Melissa and Alie, and great-grandson,Leo. Greta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Wagner, grandson, Aaron Gregory Wagner; sister, Frances Marie McDiarmid & second husband, Charles Slagle. A funeral service was held Monday, March 19, 2018, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Ledge with Pastor Chuck Foerster officiating. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery. Because Greta was blessed with a long & full life filled with many interest, the family welcomes contributions to a charity of the donor's choice, with possible areas focused on education, Michigan State University, genealogy, medical areas, hospice, and nursing.
