Mrs. Wainwright was born in New York state and when four years of age came to Portland with her parents, her father conducting a hotel on the west side of the river for a number of years, later moving on a farm. She was the widow of the late Nelson Wainwright who died nine years ago leaving an estate of considerable worth. Dying without any near relatives, Mrs. Wainwright bequeathed the bulk of her estate, valued at $20,000 to charity, the Orphans’ Home in Detroit and a hospital at Kalamazoo getting the bulk of that amount. Funeral services were held at the Miner home Sunday afternoon. Interment took place in the Portland cemetery.
