The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, August 24, 1953

Mrs. Hannah E. Waite, 77, a lifelong resident of the Lake Odessa area, died at 
8:30 a.m. Monday, August 24, at her home at Jordan Lake.  She was born June 7, 
1876, in Woodbury, daughter of Adam and Katherine Dell.  She was a member of 
the Lake Odessa Congregational church.  She owned and operated the Waite Inn 
since 1911.

Surviving are a step-daughter, Mrs. Alma Ernsberger of Flint; a step-son, 
Chester Shepard of Grand Rapids; a brother, John Dell of Woodland; and four 
sisters, Mrs. Katherine Wildt of Bellevue, Mrs. Emma Fisher of Saginaw, Mrs. 
Nora Tasker of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Lydia Krebbs of Sunfield.

Services will be conducted by the Rev. A. J. Pitman at the Pickens funeral 
chapel Wednesday at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in Lakeside cemetery.
