Dorothy E. Waite, 83, formerly of Grand Rapids and Belding, passed away
Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at Grayling Nursing Center, Grayling, after a lengthy
illness.  Mrs. Waite was born in Chicago and spent her early years, up to 1968,
in Belding.  She worked for a while in Greenville.  She worked as a legal
secretary for Warner, Norcross & Judd, LLP.  For many years, Dorothy attended
Trinity United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1950; and a brother,
William Burten Shaw.  Surviving are her daughter, Nancy and Robert Lipp of Sault
Ste. Marie; a granddaughter, Leslie and Anthony Spera of Chelsea, Mass.; her
sister, Betty and Charles Everest of Belding; and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes no formal services will take place.  Her burial will
take place in River Ridge Cemetery, Belding.  In lieu of flowers memorials may
be made to the Crawford County Animal Shelter, 508½ Huron St., Grayling, Mich.
49738.  The family is being served by Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Service, Grand
Rapids.
