Ionia Sentinel – Saturday, 6 December 1924
Mrs. Emily Wakefield, age 80 years died at 9:30 Friday evening at the home of 
her granddaughter, Mrs. Catherine Reeder, 226 ˝ West Main Street.  Mrs. 
Wakefield had been in failing health for a number of months and had been 
critically ill for several weeks.  She is survived by two sons, Lester 
Wakefield of Stanwood, and James Wakefield of Denver, Colo.  She is also 
survived by two granddaughters, Mrs. Cora Worthy of Coldwater and Mrs. Reeder.

The funeral will be held from the Lowrey & Boynton chapel Monday afternoon at 
2 o’clock.  Rev. C. J. Kruse will conduct the service and Mrs. George Shafner 
will furnish the music.  Burial will be at Highland Park cemetery.
