Ionia Sentinel-Standard – Feb. 2010

Deborah Ann Wakefield, 60, of Ionia passed away Feb. 18, 2010, in Grand Rapids. 
She was born Aug. 5, 1949, in Spartanburg, S. C., the daughter of James and 
Doris, (Ponder) Lawson. She was a 1968 graduate of Portland High School. 
Deborah married John Wakefield March 2, 1984, in Ionia. She loved to cook, bake 
and collect angels.

Deborah is survived by her loving husband of almost 26 years John; sons, Brian 
Lawson of Ionia, Robert Wesley of Alabama, Bradley (Lacey) Wesley of Sheridan, 
CJ Wakefield of Ionia and Shane Morgan of Eaton Rapids; brothers, Randy (Pam) 
Lawson of Sunfield and Jeff Lawson of Grand Ledge; sisters, Donna (Jerry) Daman 
of Lansing and Delores (Ben) Lake of Charlotte; grandchildren, Courtney, Nickie 
and Shelby.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at Ionia Moose 
Lodge. Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home of Ionia. Anyone wishing may make
