                             John Carthal Wakefield

John Carthal Wakefield of Ionia died at home of natural causes on Friday, Nov. 
26, 2010. Born May 30, 1958. John is the oldest child of Richard and Juanita 
(Mills) Wakefield of Barryton, formerly Grand Ledge. John, a 22 year employee of 
Lacks Industries was a devoted family man who enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and 
classic cars.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah (Lawson) Wakefield, and father, 
Richard Wakefield.

Surviving are his mother,Juanita Wakefield; sons, Carthal John "C J" Wakefield 
of Ionia and Shane Morgan of Eaton Rapids; step-son, Brian Lawson of Portland; 
sister, Linda (RicK) Putney; and brother, Richard Jr.(Johnna) Wakefield, as well 
as many loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

John's Internment will be in Danby Township Cemetery in Portland with his wife 
Deborah of 25 years. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec.4 
at Ionia Moose Lodge, 869 E.Lincoln Ave, in Ionia. Memorial contributions may be 
made to the Wakefield Family.
