Feb. 28,1917 OTISCO LIFE RESIDENT IS TAKEN BY DEATH Mrs. Hanley A. Waldron passed from earth’s life from her home on Morton avenue in this city at about ten o’clock last Sunday evening, after abut thirty years of poor health, aged sixty-eight years, seven months and twenty-two days. Elvira S., daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Grove, was born in a farm about one-half mile north of Cook’s Corners July 3, 1848, where she spent her childhood and young woman hood days. On March 2, 1871 she was married to Hanley A. Waldron, since which time she has lived in this city and immediate vicinity, with the exception of about three years in La Salle, county, Illinois; about eight years at Hart, Mich., and one year in Grand Rapids. Mrs. Waldron is survived by her husband and two children, Grove Waldron of Lansing and Mrs. Grace Lewis of Los Angeles, California. She also leaves one brother and two sisters – Henry Grove of Carson City, Mrs. E. Douglas of Whittier, California, and Mrs. Nora Pond of Grand Rapids. In 1907, Mrs. Waldron underwent a surgical operation for the removal of a cancer and in July, 1915, she underwent a second operation. For many months past she has been a great sufferer from pain, and much of this time in a helpless condition, all of which she endured with patience and without complaint. For many years past, up to the beginning of her severe illness, she and her faithful husband have been active and faithful members of the M. E. Church, their residence at all times being a home for Methodist ministers and members of that denomination. Funeral services will be held at the house at two o’clock this Wednesday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. E. Doty. Interment will be made in the Otisco cemetery.
