Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Mon. Aug. 29, 1988

IONIA-Gerald Wayne Waldron, 62, of Fenwick died Saturday at Ionia Manor.

Born April 7, 1926, he was the son of Russell D. and Gladys Campbell Waldron. 

He was graduated from Ionia High School with the Class of 1944. He entered the 
U. S. Air Force in July 1950. 

He was married to Jane Peterson June 10, 1951, in Belding.

He entered employment at Michigan Reformatory in October 1955 and retired Jan. 
1, 1983.

He was a member of Ronald Grange and a life member of the National Rifle 
Association.

Surviving are his wife Jane; a son, Mike Waldron, of Rifle, Colo.; three 
daughters, Mrs. Steven (Cathy) Corkwell of Ionia, Jacklyn Waldron of 
Greenville, and Mrs. Tim (Sue) Shafer of Lansing and seven grandchildren. 

Also surviving are a brother, Austin Waldron of Rockford, and a sister, Mrs. 
Leslie (Phyllis) Stedman of Ionia. He was preceded in death on Sept. 2, 1987, 
by his mother, Gladys Waldron. 

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday from Cook Funeral Home, Ionia.

Burial will be in Woodard Lake Cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday 
from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Rich Street Chapel.

Memorials have been established for Ionia Area Hospice and Alzheimer’s Disease 
Foundation, in care of the funeral home.
