Services for Martha E. Walker, 83, of 901 West Main, will be Saturday at 10 a.m.
at St. John Episcopal church.  Fr. Charles Lynch will officiate and cremation
will follow.  Mrs. Walker died Wednesday morning at the Ionia Memorial hospital.

Born in Keswick, Cumberland, England, October 3, 1892 she was the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. William J. Walker.  She came to Ionia with her family in 1908 and
lived here the remainder of her life.  She was a former employee of Carten’s and
retired from Stevensons Department store 18 years ago.

Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Ann W. Brooks of Ionia.  She was a member of St.
Johns Episcopal church of Ionia.

Members of the family will be at the Myers-Roetman funeral home Thursday from 7
to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.  A memorial has been
established for the St. Helen’s Altar guild of the church.
